Doodledo 15th Birthday!

This year we turned 15 and it’s been quite a journey! So, to celebrate we’re hoping to kick start someone else’s journey - and maybe that could be you?!

Our post-production department is offering this film bursary to help encourage emerging talent in our sector. You’ll need to demonstrate a passion for film, and a competence that will give us confidence that your film is achievable. We’re not making this for you, but we will help!

‍What kind of film will be considered?

Anything sub 5 mins is the short answer. But it could be:

• Drama
• Comedy
• Music video
• Spoken word
• Documentary

‍What does the bursary include?

The bursary is made up of a suite of benefits including:

• £5k cash - paid against invoiced outgoings for the production
• £5k worth of post-production in our grading suite and with senior colourist Neill Jones
• Free or reduced kit hire from Doodledo and Promotion
• A desk at the Doodledo studio for the duration of the production (office hours and up to 3 months)
• Support and workshops from industry experts

‍How do I submit my treatment or script?

Email your submission to info@doodledo.co.uk with the subject 'Doodledo Bursary' and include the following:

• Name
• Contact details (email and phone number are mandatory)
• Include a short introduction to yourself
• Give us a synopsis or treatment of your film
• Include script (if appropriate, or anything else you feel is relevant - e.g. audio track for a music video)
• Demonstrate your capability - show us what you’ve made in the past
• Tell us how you’d spend the £5k element of the bursary

Deadline for submissions is Nov 30th, a panel of judges will be interviewing shortlisted candidates and awarding the bursary in December with production beginning at the start of the new year.

‍How will the award be judged?

We have a panel of judges. Initially, scripts will be shortlisted before going in front of the panel. The winner will demonstrate great storytelling, have ambition with a realistic approach, and be able to demonstrate the capability to see the project through by spring 2023 with a 3-month production schedule.

Our new post-production facility in Castlefield will be made available for finishing and grading the project with our Senior Colourist Neill Jones
